Millions of customers come to Thumbtack to find pros like you. Customers see search results in real-time with profiles, prices, ratings and more. They can then filter the results to find the pros who are a good match for their specific job.
Customers choose pros they like.
When a customer thinks you might be a good fit for a job, they’ll reach out. This could be a message, call or booking. We call this a lead. And it’s a big deal. The customer found you, provided job details and wants to hear what you have to offer.
You choose your customers, too.
You tell us which customers you want to work with by setting targeting preferences. Preferences include things like where and when you work and the types of jobs you want to do. Be sure to set your preferences so you show up in the right search results.
The leads you get will either match your targeting preferences, or they won’t. When a customer’s job exactly matches up, you pay automatically for the lead (nice, it’s just what you wanted!). And to sweeten the deal, when a lead exactly matches your preferences, you get 20% off.
Opportunities to meet more customers.
You can also browse open opportunities on Thumbtack. These are customers who didn’t pick you from search results. But just because they didn’t pick you first, doesn’t mean you wouldn’t be great for the job.
Look through the Jobs tab and reach out to customers when you find a good one. These customers have already contacted other pros, so you only pay if they respond to you.
Respond quickly and get hired.
After you get a lead and the customer starts a conversation with you, it’s up to you to win the job. Review the job details and reply quickly. The faster you respond, the better your chances of getting hired.
