Here at Tree Pittsburgh, we believe in the power of art to engage the public in nature preservation, which is why we’re inviting creatives to an informative evening of learning about the importance of urban forests.
Coordinated by our own artist-in-residence, Ashley Cecil, this event will include two presentations: during the first hour our education coordinator, Joe Stavish, will share data that explains why trees are critically important to public health and eco-systems (this will include a tour of our tree nursery); the second hour will cover examples of existing public artworks that address trees and forestry, including Cecil’s work currently on display in our building.
We hope the exchange of knowledge and ideas will spark new works of art that raise awareness about our inseparable connection to trees and nature.
Light refreshments provided.
