The Lebanese National Theater will host our 2nd contemporary dance festival comprised of international and national dance artists located in the historic, Mediterranean seaside city of Tyre, South Lebanon. We are inviting artists to perform in our beloved and historic cinema, one of the only cultural gathering spaces in Tyre, Lebanon.
Where: Lebanese National Theater in Tyre, Lebanon
When: July 11-14
Deadline for applications: March 31, 2020
We (the Tiro Association) have renovated the historic Cinema Rivoli to be a place for year-round festivals ranging from music to theater, dance to storytelling. In inviting artists to be a part of our contemporary dance festival, we are interested in the vast interpretations of what contemporary dance means from different places and cultures.
You are invited to stay for the duration of the festival as our family. We welcome you to our home.
Important note: *Due to limited space for hosting artists and resources, we are looking for pieces with smaller casts and minimal tech needs. Our stage is carpet, there is no backstage or crossing behind the stage.
To apply, please send a proposal to the association via firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: Contemporary Dance Festival
Proposal should include the following:
1. Your name, location and nationality of passport
2. Information about your proposed performance (length, about, # of performers)
3. Video of the proposed performance
4. Personal bio that includes experience as a dancer
5. Any questions/needs you have, or things we should know!
