BLACK TEACHING ARTIST IN RESIDENCE (BTAR) is a new program birthed from a collaborative partnership between ACT3 Consulting Partners, LLC & UniSound. BTAR is a program that supports the music practice and professional development of Black teaching artists in the Greater Pittsburgh area in a manner aligned with the goals and mission of UniSound. The BTAR will receive a MONTHLY STIPEND during the 6-month term between February 1, 2021 – August 31, 2021. This initial residency term is meant to serve as a pilot for a more expansive, year-long Black music teaching artist residency program currently under development.
ACT3 Consulting Partners, LLC believes the BTAR is a catalytic program that can be modeled throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area and that it’s time for Black music artists to receive the support necessary to create and share their vision.
